YOGA For WELL-BEING
This flagship class is based in the Hatha tradition and the moves are challenging yet simple and accessible to all. Class is open to all new and veteran yoga students, ages 12 to 112. Each class attempts to satisfy the physical and emotional requests of participants, so each class is different. Traditionally yoga was not about a physical workout, nor its physical benefits. While a regular practice strengthens the immune system, prevents disease and corrects many physical and mental health problems while shaping and toning the body, a committed practice actually transforms one in a much deeper way. Learn proper breathing and meditation. Classes are held in a warmed room.
Back to Basics
At each class we touch on the concepts, philosophy, anatomy and connections to mind and spirit. Learn how to self-diagnose and self treat simple issues such as headaches, stress, shoulder, hip and back pain. This is a beginner-friendly class where experienced students will still learn something new each week.
MAT WORK & MEDITATION
Let's shed the stresses of the week and get ready for the weekend with long, deep stretches on the mat. Relax away the kinks and aches and start to incorporate meditation into your life. The class introduces the concept of Chakra meditation to heal and balance the body, mind and spirit.
Perhaps the end of your work week is drawing near; perhaps you are in the throes of busyness right now; perhaps your retirement has made your life more hectic than ever; or, perhaps all is well, and you have learned that it is always good and healthy to step back and to treat yourself – body, mind, and spirit – to the sweet nectar of yoga. Whatever your state of activity might be, Re-treat Yoga aims to be the balm your being needs: a river of slow, reflective flows linking the channels of spirit, mind, and body. Classes are open to all levels of experience, with emphasis on alignment and the encouragement of modifications.
