Every Second Sunday of the Month, 1:00-2:30 PM
Next Session: Sunday, April 14
Read and discuss books with other members of the YWB community. This is a free event, but donations are appreciated ($5 suggested). Bring a drink/snack to share.
You do not need to have read the book. Bring a copy or we can share, or let us know and we'll buy you a copy. Email us if you would like us to have a book for you to use or purchase.
This month's book:
“Wherever You Go, There You Are” by Jon Kabat-Zinn
Mindfulness is taken from the Buddhist concept of being present in the present moment. It is not a religious practice. Learn to be in touch with yourself - your true self that is aware, conscious, and awake to the present moment. This is an ancient practice studied and practiced for thousands of years, Kabat-Zinn has demystified and simplified the process of mindfulness practice through this book full of short stories, incidents and practices that is ideal for the modern, busy Westerner with a busy, stressed life. We will read, discuss, analyze ourselves and practice mindfulness as meditation.
